What kind of a crane would it take to rig this down in 12,000 lb sections? I imagine the cost would be high and I have no crane rigging experience... i wish i knew the cost and what i needed for a crane
From what I can see your right on top of it. I think you would be fine with a 45 ton, 55 would be better. 55 ton should be able to take those picks with the boom upright right off the side of the truck.
Keep in mind that your time savings on rigging goes far.
You can climb and rig, you can work with a crane. Piece of cake compared to what your doing.
Prices vary, but you’ll have it down to the butt log in a day.

Man that's a big mf tree for city. If stuck on roping down that's gonna be like 5ft maybe 6ft chunks. Can you block the drop area and just flip chunks down

My porta wrap guy I had for a day and a half knocked a cinder block outta the top.... gotta put it back but the wall was already cracked it took zero force. It was just sitting there. I still shid a brick

On another note, ditch the partner. For a guy to bail on you on a job like this, well that’s just too much.
Bad partners are like bad wives, they cost you money and suck you dry!
Hopefully he was there long enough to get some of that ivy on his sack!!
We will never do another job together. I love him and have no hard feelings but the amount of hell I been through because of this is not tolerable.

I would have died before I bailed on him.

@Jed1124 I really appreciate you a lot and all of you.
I have been sick to my stomach literally for a long time. I feel so much better now. I may actually sleep well and have a good thanksgiving because of this convo.

Im a tuff stubborn nut but this burden has been destroying my confidence till now.

When you smash that tree you’ll feel even better. Good luck to ya! You got this.
Nothing brings up the spirits like seeing the butt log of a big ol nasty fall!

Nobody has mentioned this and it will require you to swallow your pride to some extent but what does the contract you have with the tree owner say if you back out of it? If you pay him any money he's paid you and give notice that because of personnel problems you are no longer able to fulfill the contract, is there any discussion of an additional penalty to be paid? As much concern as you've expressed indicates a job beyond your current abilities and one that could hurt you and damage other properties that would cost you money in excess of what a nominal penalty would. Does your insurance ( you do have insurance?) cover the eventuality of being undermanned and unable to complete your obligation? Talk to your insurance company.
Being pushed into something dangerous is something you'll need to be able to recognize and resist.
