Hey Rich,

I have a Grillon and its been sitting in my bag. I liked it at first and it was cool to have something new. It does require a rope of I believe 9mm. I think if I was to really use it I would have it set up on a seperate saddle that I would use for removals with maybe a 12 ft lanyard and add on to the end if I need.

I don't have any experience with the positioner and I'll most likely own one some day. Right now I am just using a petzl micro with a 9 ft fly I spliced up with a bulldog snap.

Everyone I've talked to says that the Positioner is better then a tress hitch on a lanyard.

I've dropped my Grillon for an MT.

Can it be that much better then a $20 worth of hitch hardwear?

I've never climber with a Grillon only used it at the store. I have climbed a lot with a Positioner though. Of the two, I think the P is a better choice. The P is more compact. Since the rope goes straight through the action is smoother. In order to tail slack with the G you pull to the side. With the P, straight back. To me, this is a more natural motion.
