Hi guys, working on a poulan 260 pro for a guy at work.He worked on it first so I'm not sure of the carb adjustments, any one know? It'll start, run high speed for a little while and die out, idleing is out of the question. He was threatening the saw with a hammerhttp://arboristsite.com/images/smilies/clap.gif
:clap:starting to think it might not be a bad idea! This thing reminds me of some yellow saws I worked on alot of years ago.http://arboristsite.com/images/smilies/bigcry.gif
:cry:Thanks in advance for any help Russ

Remove the plastic limiter caps first of all.
Screw the H and L all the way in to a lightly seated postion. Then turn them out 1 turn each for a start. Turn the idle in and then turn it back out about a 1 turn also. Should get you in the ballpark.
Check and make sure the carb is tight to the mount. Sometimes the carbs come loose and can wear through the gasket.

thanks

Thanks cut4fun!Pulled the carb, that gasket was alright.Pulled the mounting flange and the whole bottom of the gasket was gone!By the way the owner said the carb was ready to fall off at one point.wish he'd mentioned that sooner! But thanks again;)
