I have been running a 330 that revived from a non running saw. Im getting a lot of vibration as soon as put much pressure on it when cutting. If I hold it lightly and dont push at all it is very tolerable.
Wondering if someone wiser to the ways of the PP330 can tell me if that is just a characteristic of that saw, or maybe I nedd to change the antivibe springs, or maybe I did something wrong on assembly?
Thanks!

I have a Poulan Pro 330, doesn’t vibrate much but that could just be me. It’s got a combo of rubber and spring mounts so that could account for the bit of extra vibration? Nice saw to run IMO. You running standard or skip chain?

The chain is sharp, making nice chips, in fact I may have taken a bit too much off the rakers because it really wants to dig… Im talking very little pressure was bottoming out the air filter cover. Im not sure why. I will look at it this weekend and see what I can figure out.

Rakers should be set to .025”, definitely take a close look at the AV mounts. They may look good at first glance but could be worn/soft from oil contamination. I see it fairly often on older Stihl and husky rubber AV saws. If all checks out running the saw without the AF cover isn’t gonna hurt anything.

Will do, thanks! I broke my brake band on that 330 today felling some big black locust. Ugh. Hoping a local amish dealer who sold poulan back in the day will have one. He comes up with a lot of NLA parts from his back room. Its like magic.

Poulan band NLA use Husqvarna 55 OEM band. Some afm ones from china to short made wrong and fit 260 instead. https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/poulan-330-380-brake-band/

I have ran and sold a ton of these over the years. Never seen one vibrate when set up and done right.

Last parts pile I got and went through.

I may have done something wrong, although everything seems to have went together like it fit. The original saw had a leaky tank, the vertical seam had an invisible crack at the rear like right in front of the throttle trigger, so after trying to seal it with my soldering iron a few times unsuccessfully, I ebayed a replacement tank. I guess it is a bit of a frankensaw, maybe something is not perfect there, but the replacement tank went together like it was exact match.
Thanks for the tip on that brake band!
