I sold an S25DA to a guy but the fuel cap is leaking. The duckbill looks perfectly health (and closed) but the saw leaks fuel out the vent hole. I assume the vent must be defective. I have three spare caps, none of which have the duckbills in place.

Hence this question: Are duckbills pretty standard from one brand to the other? I see them online for Homelite saws but not sure if these would work on the Poulan. I haven't completely scrounged the shop yet to see if I may have a string trimmer cap or something with one but if I need to buy new ones, where do I get a few of them?

I'll dig for a link. I had one saved on ebay a while back when I was doing research on this saw. There was a 10 pack for something of similar size

Yeah, the 10 pack is what I've been seeing but they're described as for "Homelite" and not sure if those will fit a Poulan. I work on Poulans quite a bit but hardly ever on Homelites so don't want to pay for something I won't use.

mine came with a metal screw in the cap it works fine and still vents fine.

I was able to order them at eReplacementparts . Kom. Find the model and look at the ipl. It was over a year ago that I ordered a few. Things could have changed.

I was able to get a couple new caps for mine from a local dealer. Maybe check through Sears.

This one looks like the one that goes inside the tank, not sure but the ones in the cap seem to be shorter and wider. If this inside the tank one is the same as the inside the cap one, I bet I can scrounge one up around here off of something not currently in use... I just don't know if they're the same. If I have some time in the shop, I'll have to pursue that some more.

yes and it works fine also it doesn't leak and i the tank doesn't build any pressure.

The part number is 530026119 and they cost about $2

You can get one from any Poulan or Husky dealer or online.

The Homelite valves will work of you enlarge the hole in the little spring retainer a bit to accept the larger dia of the Homelite duckbill.

I use a gutted Bic stick type pen housing for pressing the retainer and duckbill back into the cap.

Edit, I just seen that Jake posted a link to one, but I had to laugh at the part where you save 40% as thats about the same as the Poulan list price.

Mark, is the duckbill in the Poulan cap the same one that goes inside the tank on some models?
Thanks.

Well if the duckbills inside the tank and in the cap are identical, then I'm going to scrounge the shop and come up with one. There must be some dead trimmer or blower in there willing to donate a part. I did find one cap this morning and when I touched the duckbill to see how flexible it was it crumbled into bits. :(
I got the info I was seeking. Thanks everyone!
