i have an 026 pro,(rarely use) 036 pro, (sometimes use), 044 (use all the time), and 066 (use only in the log pile or for felling big ones). the 044 has had a new piston and jug in 98 saw was purchased new in 93. itwill outrun the 066 easily (2000 model) the 036 runs ok but for only 9cc less than the 044, its a gutless wonder. i need to find someone to powertune the 036 for a back-up woods saw, and turn the 066 into something other that a heavier less powerful 044. the 026 i hardly ever use except for upside down overhead cuts while on a ladder (framing jobs), but it too could use a boost, it has one of the carbs without a high speed adjustment. i am into cutting and saws, and derive some of my income from cutting, but i am not an extremely knowledgeable person with saw stuff. i have a tach, and take care to tune my saws as i go up in elevation.(5000' to 11000') i take care of my equipment but need more performance. any suggestions? thanks

First off, any of our resident saw builders, Dozerdan, Ken Dunn, or EHP, would do a saw mod for you that you would be very happy with. I have several Dozerdan saws and am very happy with them. Dan is a real straight shooter too!

The 066 that you have is probably one of the EPA restricted models having a real restricted muffler. If you do a search for modded saws and muffler mods with find loads of reading that may answer some of your questions.
