Those are loops that I welded. Vertical loops are easier to use. Your wrist doesn't twist as much. Another nice part is that the loops are just around the corner, with the web loops I have to fish around in order to find the gear.

When the whole group was together I hoped to get a chin strap count. I forgot...During the day I would look around and see that about 85% of the people had chin straps. The groups rotated so I had a different portion of the 45 people to survey.

In a couple of the groups we talked about chin straps. the guys with hardhats all agreed that they felt a little exposed.
 
J.P.S. the guy in question is a manager wearing nice clothes, no one was working, everyone has to stop when senior high up from the utility comes. Why it is funny,the guy was trying to be someone he was not. If he had not worn a hard hat at all (no reuirement) and told a good dirty joke that would have been o.k.. The chinstrap was a weak effort at p.r. and made us laugh cause we never wear them, but we do the hard, dangerous work, we don't do whatever it is they get paid big money for.
 
All I got to say is Arborwear. The best cloths for climbing ever!
