Hey everyone-

I have a new 360 PRO and am wanting to open the muffler up to allow for more cooling and maybe a little power. Problem is that I do not have the confidence or tools (drill press, welding equip....) to do the mod my self.
What I was wondering was if anyone knows of someone who could take my existing muffler cover and add the appropriate size/number of correctly located ports to achieve the mod, send it back to me and I can put it back on and rip away. Any thoughts out there, is this something our resident hotsaw guys could do. I also know that If I did it, it would end up looking like crap. I know its a saw, but I dont want it to look like the mods were done by some 12 year old in the dark! Also I have no idea how to open up a muffler and keep the appropriate neg. pressure there. Would I have to get the saw re-tuned if the muffler were to get opened up? Thanks in advance for any info!

Does Walkers do this? I looked on their website and it looks like they offer this service. I e-mailed them some ?'s and wonder if they can do it on my 360 PRO.

Has anyone had this done through Walkers? How is their final product?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. As you can prob. all tell, not a logger here, I do love to spend time outdoors cuttin wood and tinkering with my various power tools. I just dont know enough to be comfortable in the chainsaw realm yet to tinker, but hey thats why I read AS about 20 times a day!!!
Thanks everyone-

Drew,

Walkers does a excellent job at modifying mufflers you can send yours to them,or you can buy one from them already done for under $30 I think, but I dont remember it's been a while since I got mine for the 385..They do make a difference both in power and in the cooling department, they are louder but hey thats life keeps the neighbors on their toes thats all..Good luck let us know what you decide to do

Later Rob.

I had to notch both saw covers to make the muff's fit but that was no big deal. The worst thing about Walkers is the turnaround time due to shipping to British Columbia. If you have the time they do a great job

Thanks guys-

I am thinking of having them send me a new one, that way in case, I can always put the stock cover back on. Huskyman- those pics look great! That is the kind of workmanship I am looking for.

Did either of you guys have to adjust the seeings on your saw, or can you leave them where they are? Not to sure how to adjust the saw settings, dont know where the middle between to lean and to rich are and I dont have a tach. Let me know what you guys did once you re installed the new muffler. I plan on going this route, I have an e-mail into them right now. We'll see, I hope it will work out for my saw. If so i'm doin it, I am in no hurry, like I said just a firewood cutter on the weekends. Although I often look out my window and think of how I may have missed my calling a tad. I have always believed that I was put on this earth to be outside and doing work. I did it all my years through college and loved every bit of it. WOW off on a tangent, sorry.

Thanks again for any more thougts / experiences!

Respectfully-
Drew

I gave each saw a small bump on the High speed screw to keep them in range. Porbably about 1/8th turn. Go to www.madsens1.com and it explains how to set the mixture screws very well. You can also do a search here.

In the summer the saws probably will not need an adjustment, but when the weather gets cold they need a tad more fuel to compensate for the denser air

RockyJ-
Thanks for the post. I have sent an E-mail to Dan (Dozer) but havent heard from him yet. I asked him if he could do just that, as you have suggested, but I am sure he is pretty busy right now. I do look forward to talking him when he has the time. Maybe I will try to PM him instead.
I am not too worried about having the muffler resemble stock, just want it to look well made, and of course to give me greater performance i.e. cooling and some more h.p. Thanks again!

Here's one I did a while ago that I copied from the Walkers saws

Drew78,
I got an e-mail from DozarDan a few days ago and I know he was having computer problems then so you may have a bit of difficulty reaching him.

Thanks Bill-

I figured it was something to that effect. From some of the past posts I searched on him, he seems like a real likeable, honest man with good intentions. I PMed him so I will just have to wait till his confuser is up and runnin again. Its prob. just the low mix setting on his computer is off, back it off a 1/4 turn and he'll be all set!:D
