You got it Sizzle Chest! Been through the forester deal already. Had the Timber buyers out, yes more than the two, just gave the low and high for the variance justification. Just at this point thinking of adding a mill, kiln, and moulding machine into the mix to maxamize the profits. And no, were not talking about taking every large tree, just the ones that have reached maturity, and or are starting to show signs of decay. for some reason in this area oaks reach about 26-30" and then they die. Base rots out and they fall over. I've been told it has something to do with the fact that the majority of the land in this area has been used as cattle pastures. (Grandpa was a cattle broker and all of mine has seen cattle at one time or another) Not sure if theres much truth to it, but they don't live long enough to get massive in size. It's wise to take the big mature ones that start to show a little punkyness at the base or in 5 years you'll be sawing them up for firewood.
