I got about a cord's worth of cherry in my truck load this year. I do a lot of smoking and put it to the side but realize I don't need that much, not to mention I'm getting ready to drop a cherry I have on my property. Anyway how much to charge for a cord or a pickup full of cherry splits.

I dont value cherry any more than I do ash or maple for firewood. In my area it would still be 150-195 per cord. On the lower end if you come load your truck and on the higher end if your getting it delivered.

I was thinking of approaching some of the local BBQ spots and was wondering if it's worth the effort, but that's not a bad idea either, make a little pocket money to waste on a chainsaw or fly rod.

Around here, Hickory and Apple are the most popular choice for smokers. Some use cherry, I like it, but it grows so profusely around here people get it for next to nothing.

Any value to the lumber? I have a hack of 1 1/2" thick by 5' long in various widths. I sawed just kind of playing.....but if it has value id sure like to know. Thanks !!

I smoke a lot with cherry due to the fact it is readily available. Wouldn't go for anymore here than maple, oak and the likes.

Cherry is primo bbq wood prepped well, ie, no bark, uniform splits. The customer will tell you what size they want. About double what heating wood goes for.

I HOPE if you have decent cherry logs, you will send them to a sawmill...and not just cut them for firewood!

For firewood cherry is not anything special it's no oak or maple many would say it's a low - medium heat out put .. It does coal well and season fast plus it's readily available everywhere . Unless your selling some of it to high end BBQ smoker guys then don't expect anymore money out of cherry than any other firewood

WOW! Your firewood is cheap there in NY.
I'm North and right across Lake Ontario from NY in Ontario and our firewood regularily goes for $250-#300/cord. Even with the exchange rate, ours is so much more here.
