Proximity to Parts & Service?

We're looking at our options for chippers and are trying to decide how important proximity is to us when it comes to parts and service dealers. The nearest Bandit dealer is over 500 miles away. Vermeer dealer is the closest at ~75 miles and Morbark is about 50 miles further. How much does this matter?

We are about 75 miles from our vermeer dealer, they bring us stuff all the time, bolts belts, knives, demos, ect. And its not a bad trek if we have to pick up something, or take something in. We are pretty loyal, but feel its worth the service. Even over the phone technical support we get is worth $$$


Not to mention how much wood our chippers eat in compared to how much service needed is a great ratio

Hadn't thought of looking north We're in Marysville, so not too bad of a drive (assuming the border wait is decent)
