Not to slam Sherrill, but I recently bought their 16" blade for my polesaw too. It does suck. Their new to the saw market and should rethink it. I was very disappointed.

Are you guys talking about the new laser blades? I bought one a month or so back and it's worked fine for me so far. Granted, I don't use a pole saw to prune with too often but mine seems to cut just fine.

I like to use 2 saw when Im up deadwooding or pruning...13 samurai and 15.75in. Ichiban samurai saw, works very good, fast cut.

Silky Ibuki is also a very good saw and they are wicked sharp so be careful with your climbing line as well as lanyards and your arms for sure. I use mine on almost every job I do at some point.

I had been using the corona $22 saw for years but now they don't sharpen them evenly and they seem to grab to the left, and i got a american fanno with the wood handle, and it is much better, I had a marvin pole saw head and the blade on it was way to grabby, and recently put the sherril lazor saw on it and it was a improvement, I would probably never climb with the 200 as often if I would get a silky, never aforded myself one yet, used to have a flat blade folding fine tooth that i kept in my pocket think it was a corona but i lost it it came in handy when i have droped my hand saw to finish the section,

Yep, that be the one. I bought 2 of them, both seem too aggressive, they dig in real bad and then tear instead of cut. Your way stronger than me, so you might be able to pull it through easier. I use them a lot. When in bushy trees, that are hard to move through, I will get in a spot, have that sent up with a 8' pole and sit back and prune all the crap I can, out of the way. Makes it easier to move around. I don't do finish cuts with them, but getting the branches and epi's out of the way helps tons. Will go back to Fanno for those. Would like to go Silky, but their holes don't line up with the saw head attachment

The laser blades need a break in time IMO. They are way too agressive out of the package but after a few cuts they loosen up and hold an edge longer than fanno but are not sharpenable, which I don't care for.
Scott: an end cutting milling bit works for modifying the hole pattern on a silky blade so it can fit a marvin pole saw head or just about any pole head for that matter.

I used a dremel tool with a stone on it to modify a silky to fit my pole saw, kind of a pain but worth it.
