I have a 2001 F-350 w/ 7.3 Powerstroke and I was considering/wondering if I can put a PTO on it. This goes back to my idea for a chipper trailer setup but I need to find a way to eliminate tongue weight but did not want to run anything smaller than a 6" disc chipper w/ 9" disc chipper being ideal. If I could run a PTO from my truck to run the chipper/hydraulic arm/etc this would be great for my residential work. I could drive up to the job with my trailer in tow, drop the tree, hook up the PTO chipper, blow the chips into the back of the truck,load the logs onto the trailer behind the PTO chipper, and be home in time for supper.
