A bore has its uses but far to many fiddle with boring for too many reasons imo. Heavy lean is my only time and is also species relevant. Heavy lean maple, ash, red oak are way different than conifers or sweet gum for example I have to say for 95 % of routine felling a conventional notch and backcut or dutchman is fine. Hollows and leans I prefer to use ratchet binder to prevent chair as many times its difficult do determine sound wood and having an exploding base while trying to bore does not seem very safe to myself.
However I release my trigger below to level not above.

The Video is is showing how to avoid "Barber Chair" and dead drop Spar off of Stump. I thought OP wanted to know how redirect fall of Leaner by a few degrees one way or the other of the lean? I know you can't defy Gravity with Chainsaw alone, but isn't there a way using Facecut in direction you want Tree to go, followed by Bore Cut and then leaving Backstrap thicker on side you want Leaner to fall using Wedge or Wedges to finish drop. Is that a Dutchman or Humbolt Technique?

Many ways to swing a leaner however when collateral damage is remotely possible I will have a rope and many times two ropes to control it.
