I wear the Baileys Climbers and have been pretty satisified with them. Have had them almost a year and the stitching is starting to come out on the sides from where I foot lock in them. Thats an easy fix, I will just have the little Korean guy down the street stitch them back up. However, I think the next pair I buy will be the Wescos, or the Danner Highlighners.

A number of guys I know who specialize in big trees go with ice boots because the are designed to be attatched to devices for sticking to a vertical surface. You do not feel the sturip of your gaff and your weight is evenly distributed on the insole. If you're in gaff regularly it is workth the 200-300 they cost.
I tried that school of thought about 10 years ago, gave up on it not beacause of cost but the rigid sole of the ice/mountain boots wasnt suitable for the ground, which meant changing boots between jobs etc. I still think a good quality boot White, Wesco, is the way to go. I just picked up a pair of ins. Danners and so far they are great, though they arent heavy built. I think they will be satisfactory. Used them in a big Poplus yesterday, the gaffs felt fine which suprised me with the sofness of the boot. :umpkin:
