So I ordered the replacement crankcase assembly last night. Here's to hoping that the crank bearings are in good shape so that I don't have to crack that bad boy open. This whole ordeal has given me a lot of respect for the poor souls that do this everyday. Although I'm sure it helps to have done this once or twice before.

Sorry to hear about the busted crankcase. I'm guessing the crankcase assembly you ordered comes with crank and bearings and just needs to be built onto. One thing to check on the 55's is the oil worm gear which is pressed on to the crankshaft. Hopefully your assembly comes with the gear installed but it's just something to look out for. Good luck and have fun!
