Machine broke down the other week and I had to free spool the drive motors to get it on the trailer. I removed the small cover plates on the drive motors, to do so. Got it back to the shop, jacked the one side up, a week later realized fluid was leaking out of the drive motor. Looks to be thicker viscosity than hydro fluid. Anyone know what type of fluid it would be and how to add it? Thanks

There is a rectangle box below the fill/check level plug on the outside face of the drive wheel. Roll the machine so this box is horizontal. Remove plug, fill till oil runs out of the hole. I believe the oil is 80/90 gear oil. I'll have to check my book.

The book says SAE #90 weight. API service classification of GL4, GL5.

What was the problem that made you load it freewheeled? I have only tried that once. I was in loose sand. It wasn't working. I ended up fixing it on site and finishing the job with my back-up machine.

Sounds great. Thanks i appreciate it. The hydro shaft snapped, of course it was not a convient location to break down. Machine has a out 1150 hrs. I ended up lifting the rear of the machine with the mini skid loader to get it to move. Thanks again

What was the fuel related issue previously?

"I have a Deutz in my Rayco super 50. Its runs good, then power loss, sputtering and no power. I replaced the fuel filters & Hydro filters. The vent cap on the fuel tank is working properly. Is sometimes shuts off and sometimes Power is restored and is firing properly. I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and what it was. It seems to me that maybe a fuel line is collapsing? when it shuts of, it starts right back up. If it was sucking air, it would struggle to start no? Do the fuel pumps on the duetz work sometimes and not others? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks"

It ended up being the fuel water seperator. It was sucking air from somewhere. I bypassed it and it ran great.
