Started as a uprooted pine with 3 arms. Took a few months working at the 12-20" stuff to get to the 38" trunk.20140715_160810.jpg 20140715_163041.jpg 20140512_143026.jpg Ended up with some 24"x10' boards from the big trunk.20140813_174708.jpg

I want to start milling some of my trees and wood here on my 38 acre farm, but I know very little about it.

What mill are you using, chainsaw etc.? Where did you get those 2"x4" tubes and how much did they cost?

Thanks!

Using a pair of 440's on grandberg mills, 24" &36" for 80% of what I cut. Occasionally mount up 660 or 880 for bigger hardwood. Rails are 2x4 aluminum square tube 5/16 I think. Were $250ish a few years back for a pair of 12' and pr 9'. Not cheap but r light and work awsome. Homemade brackets of a variety of widths depending on log size

looks like the top boards,,need weight on them, along with stickers, as they are starting to warp...........[/QUOTE]
Was still sorting and stacking when pic was taken. Use cinder blocks for weight when done. The wide boards r sticker ed and straight, just a illusion from camera angle. And they r a little off square from trimming off for some barbed wire or cable I got into.

OK, thanks! That's what I thought about the metal tube prices!
