Rods are completely finished and heat treated before they are broken in a fixture.

Fracture split connecting rod. Did I pass the test?Working on a PL-7A and I noticed that the connecting rod cap looks weird, almost like it is broken... What say you?

yep, done in some cars, too.
Update-Got the saw back together, put fresh fuel mix in and it fired right up. But, the chain that worked well with the Homelite sprocket, does not seem happy with the NOS B146-B7 Remington sprocket. I guess it's a different pitch. The sprocket is slightly bigger. haha.
Glad it went to a good home...Evilbay snag.
Came in this box.
The .077 gauge x 24" roller nose bar excaped from the hole.[emoji35]
Luckily, the loop of 9/16" chain stayed in.
Glad it went to a good home...

We need to get a lynch mob up for that seller Carl. Happens too often and no reason for it
Kudos for him trying, but it will never be completely right unless he can replace that rare bar with a identical one.Nope.
So far he has been a stand up guy. He's trying to make it right.[emoji106]
His only fault (?) [emoji848]is he collects Homelites.
Seems Remington did the planetary reduction quite different then Wright. The planetary reduction ratio is about 3.3:1.
I have found no information on these at all.[emoji848]
