Could anyone tell me if the adjustable WT-426 Carburator will work as a direct replacement on a Stihl MS-260 Pro? If so does anyone know where I could purchase one? Preferably a new one.

Does anyone know where I could Purchase a new shop manual for the Stihl MS-260 Pro as well as any books/manuals on Tuning/porting/modifying or increasing performance of chainsaw or other 2 stroke engines?

Thank You,

Hi Tripp,

The wt-426 is the best choice for the ms260. There are other wt numbers available that work but the 426 does it best. You can buy a new one only from a Stihl dealer or someone who purchased one through a Stihl dealer since Stihl owns this model. They are about $65 USD, around double what it will cost you to buy a wt that isn`t unique to Stihl. You might also get lucky on eBay or try sedanman, seems that he mentioned awhile ago that he had a spare.

Your local Stihl dealer or eBay will get you a service manual.

There are several good books on the theories involved in two stroke performance tuning. Try amazon for titles and then hit your local library.

Jokers, Thank You for the information. Specialy the conformation that the wt-426 is the correct carburator.

I have been watching ebay but so far have only found the manuals on CD ROM.
