Well, since I've been too busy to work on saws lately, I decided to let my dealer fix my Husqvarna 154 up for me instead of waiting until I had some spare time again.
She got a new OEM piston/rings in a rehoned cylinder, along with new A/V bushings, fuel line and filter, plug, and a thorough cleaning. Took her out and made a few test cuts on some 14" ash and already this saw is making some power! Considering that this saw runs with or out-cuts most current production saws in its displacement class, I can only imagine how impressive this saw must have been when it was made back in 1984.
I wish I had left some of my remaining collection of logs uncut, since this is a heck of a firewood saw. Guess I'll just have to find some more logs to bring home. Anyway, here she is, posing with the 238:
And on an unrelated note, look what was waiting on a pallet on my driveway when I got home today:
