I run the revolution wheel on my vermeer 352 and really like it. But the last time I ordered teeth, I ordered the short short lead teeth rather the the longer short lead teeth which has a bigger profile, sticking farther out from the wheel. I have been using the longer version all along and was wondering if anyone uses the shorter version which matches the profile of the side teeth. I was going to send them back and reorder the longer version, but if I can get a little feed back, may want to try them out while I have them.

The Revolution Wheel is similar to a Sandvic/Razor wheel Carlton uses, that being said i would think it would be a little easier[smoother] on the grinder when you plunge into the stump.Maybe the higher teeth are for higher horsepower grinders. You should call and ask to be sure.

Thanks, I love this revolution wheel and have been using it on 2 machines for a couple of years. But I got it specifically for these machines and it was outfitted with the longer lead teeth. I made an error the last time I ordered teeth and ended up with the shorter version. I was going to send them back but thought, just like you, that it might provide a smoother cut if they were made for this application. I called and spoke to a young women who answered and she didn't know and went and spoke to a tech. When she came back, she was still confused, or maybe I'm confused, as to what the effect of using the shorter version would be. Anyway, seeing no harm, I will replace the longer version on one of the machines and see how it works. I thought I wouldn't be the only one who wondered what the difference would be and thought I'd ask if anyone had experience with them. Thanks brother

The shorter version is used on smaller horsepower machines. Carlton doesn't start using the long main cutters until you hit 60hp and up. I think they believe it takes more horsepower to use the longer ones. The shorter teeth are used by many manufacturers like Woods who use nothing but the shorts.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dave, that makes sense. I like to cut faster, but I also hate causing too much fatigue on the machines. So I think I'll throw the smaller ones on while I have them and see how they work.
