Pine Sawyer Beetle? I thought I had found ALB in my area till I did a little research.
 
Yes it was a Whitespotted Pine Sawyer. I tried to look it up and took me a while to figure out which is was, didn't see it listed as a lookalike on that page until the 2nd time I went back to it. The white spot at the base of the wings gives it away positively.
 
The only good thing to come from that bug is the city of chicago took a load of wood away for me cuz I was in a contamination zone. The EAB just came to town at the end of last season. Not a good sign. Time to break out the last of the old mans stash of DDT. (hehe just kidding)
