I saw this in the newest issue of National Geographic. It's got to be a gear drive. Thought you hardcore gizzmo junkies might be interested.
 
Is that a Druzhba? Crazy saws. They've been making them unchanged since the '50s, kind of like the Volga limos.
 
Hi there, how ya makin out? Got ere' done yet?
I just got back from Siberia and this is how they skid wood. Needless to say there is still more untouched timber there than all the continental United States.

Was that guy wearing SCUBA gear? I swear that picture looks like he's cutting underwater.:dizzy:
 
Shoot fire.... a rubber tired skidder! Wish I'd a had one of them in Montana. Course some o' that country you didn't have to skid it just pray she did'nt jump the road.:D
