Ordered two of the 33" Carlton bars off Amazon yesterday. They've already been shipped. Don't understand why they're listed OOS on Bailey's. That's where they're coming from.

Amazon.com: 33" Carlton Premium Sprocket Tip Unbranded Chainsaw Bar (33-55-B3100-Psunb): Sports & Outdoors

Thanks for the link,

I just got 3, I will probably change the nose over to .375 as There are many .375 110 link loops hanging around here.

And why not? the bars are only 66% of the cost of a chain loop!

The Makita 6800i spikes are still available new and are a perfect fit for the 120si

Good news to hear.

I did a mod on an "inner" to fit the 120 cover.

Did not know the 6800 outer would fit the 120si.

That's the same bar I used on my 166, to drill the oil holes I used a Sutton 5/32 cobalt drill bit,
I had to sharpen it a few times that German steel is damn hard.

I use a small carbide end mill in a Bridgeport.

A carbide burr and a steady hand would work as well.

Thanks for the link,

That would fit my 1100/2100s but a no go for the big S/D mount.

I could probably open it up to 14mm and adjust the oiler holes.

Thought of that many times but have never gave it a good try (yet)

Figured a standard Stihl could be made to work also.

But at $20 bucks a pop why not buy new eh?

Still waiting on the bar fer this one,

She be idling there in the pic, 2 minutes out of the box.

Baileys ROCKS!

Got my 33" bars today, opened them up to find a $10 off and free shipping flyer on my next order.

Guess some new loops of .404 are in order. I might try some skip, what do you think?

Is it difficult to get the oiler wholes drilled?

I can't speak from first hand experience on that particular bar, but I have drilled and shaped others with a little effort. A drill press and a good bit (probably not from Wally World) helps.

How far out is the hole ?

I've elongated the straight drilled hole on a German bar for the large Husky mount/7901.

I just freehanded it with a taper type bit in the little die grinder.

I know I need to get a breaker/spinner, but, anyone know the drive link count for a fairly fat bellied 25" hardnose on the big SDs?

me thinks 84 (in .375) may not be enough? .404 link number for 25" bar?

I was going to post a few pics of the new bars, but .404 is pretty rare in my shed.

Oh well, Baileys sent me a nice coupon so some .404 loops are coming, just need an idea of the link count for that fat bellied 25" bar?

I have a 133 that sports a .404.

I do like the length of the cutter as it should outlast any .375.

Besides the 25" hardnose will be on a 6 cube SD it should make short work of the stumps eh?

i got the conversion from a thread in the chainsaw section. looks like 80 links of .404 would be 86.4 of .375.

This is my 153 saw is in top shape.
The 166 need a good cleaning session. And i found a few parts for it.
The only things im still looking for are a Full warp and a western air filter.
But i think those parts are never sold in the Netherlands.

Gr Luc

Luc, my SD 166 with chainbrake has a full wrap handle found it inNetherlands.
The HD airfilter you can find in US.
Nice US spike's on you 153.

Did I mention I got another full wrap with this saw (and a spare filter).

I am in the process of putting new hose on the spare handle, it will look nice on my other 152 eh?

They will both be sporting 33" bars with .404 skip chain.

Thanks,

I got it covered "for now".

Ever put new hose on a handle?

I just finished a pretty tweaked full wrap for the 123-143 saws. Then I put the same stuff on a 152 wrap I got with another deal.

They turned out pretty good, but what a pain fo' sure!
