Right side. . . I'm still not sure if I like my hand saw there or not. Still have a tendancy to try and sheath it on my left hip. Getting used to it though.

Mike,

Why did you add the deltas?

Tom,
I liked your idea, thought about it and went for it. The delta link allowed me to tie my lanyard's hitch directly to it cutting out the extra connection. My hand saw scabbard is now placed on my right side making it almost like holstering a pistol. It's easier for me to reach since it's attached farther forward rather than farther back on the saddle (just need to get used to the new placement). I tighten the delta's down w/ pliers to ensure they don't start to unscrew and then check them occationally. Thanks for the idea.

I didn't see the right side setup before.

I'm glad that you found my idea useful.

When I used a cord for an aduster I used a brass swivel snap for a slack tender. On my setup I threaded the rope through the loop and clipped the snap to my side d. This kept things tight with almost no loss of movement for adjustments. The brass snap is only slightly less effecient than the pulley.

I think that if I were to setup a saddle with a cord adjuster, I'd use a D shaped MR. That would allow the ends and the adjuster to be spread out on an arc instead of jamming into the point on the delta.

Another tidy option would be to use a stainless steel marine shackle. The shackle would be tidy since the sleeve would be eliminated. The down side is that the shackle would probably cost more than an MR.

i'd been playing with tying to D with chord, running a VT with the bottom braid/wrap on the outside forming a half hitch (or better) choking ring..... that loops around the D, then anchored wth barrel to the D. This ring squeezes the line, doesn't choke (loaded D-ring pulls hitch open) and makes a stiffer, built in tending ring from the last ring of the chord, to assist/ maintain alignmeant for the D to tend the lanyard's frcition hitch (as i have the standing end of the lanyard laced through the D to act as tender too; but is not 100% positive everytime on it's own).
