I also try to put one of those manila tags on mix cans with ratio. Doesn't always happen though.
Just dont let anyone mix it but you. Always use the same can for mix.I also try to put one of those manila tags on mix cans with ratio. Doesn't always happen though.
Yup. I only use two cans for small engine mix.Just dont let anyone mix it but you. Always use the same can for mix.
Me too, they are on the bucket truck in the side box.Yup. I only use two cans for small engine mix.
And after reading all of the oil threads here you can guarantee my measurements are accurate to the ml. Lol.
I don't know how the gas got in there. I'm the only one who uses that saw, and I'm pretty sure I brought the right gas on that job, but if that's what happened, then I obviously must have brought the wrong stuff. Hmm - I better check my pole pruner, now that I think about it. Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to refresh all my mix and make sure it's all clearly marked. That might be part of the problem. I'm going by memory, and that's always dangerous with me.
Makes no sense! Did he rip it down if it was straight gased clean the cyl up and replace the piston and rings? Was it pressure tested? Did you find evidence of where this straight gas came from? Am I to understand it ran crappy now it dont cause he put premix in it? If it gives you more trouble you can send it to me and I will go over it 100 percent.
Well if you do I can fix it easily and at a very reasonably low cost. It dont sound right to me that whole story. Straight gas would score it up. Can you do a compression test?I doubt they checked it thoroughly. He said it would be 10 days before they could get to it and they had it done in 3 days, so I'm guessing they rushed through it.
I don't know of any good reliable saw shops around here. The two in town are the kind of small-engine guys who just get the thing barely running and call it good.
If I have any more trouble with it, I'd be glad to send it to you or someone else here on AS who knows what they're doing.

Runs kind of good then the scoring will cut down on compression and stick the rings, finally it seizes. If straight gas is the only issue, can we expect it to run mostly normal until the scoring starts?

That may tell us more.I'll see if I still have my tester and let you know.
PM inbound , I will fix it for you it sounds scored. It should be closer to 150 or more.Compression is at 100 psi.
That's the oil I run, so far so good been 3.5 years since I switched from Stihl Ultra.Simple thing i did was peel the sticker off the oil bottle so i know what kind of mix was in the can ,went to this brand because it is blue ,the gold oils are hard to tell it is mix or not .View attachment 501967 View attachment 501968
