IF, you seal off the cab, and exhuast would you ruin a saw by pressure washing it to get years of build up off and out of them? If this is not a good idea, how do you clean up a old saw you want to keep? Just another one of my dumb questions.

There are some threads about this, and I know Thall has a fancy pants machine that does one heck of a job cleaning saws.

But, basically, if you seal off the exhaust and intake you can go to town and clean the saw as vigorusly as you want.

i prefer to use compressed air and gasoline for cleaning the saw.... washing machine's and stuff are for wussies...

Dishwasher, for parts that can be detached from the crankcase/engine.....

Works well for really dirty air filters, at a more reguar basis also......:biggrinbounce2:

Do you use "jet dry" to get rid of those pesky water marks?

When the dishwasher is finish i just open it up a little bit when it is still hot, and let the steam out, and.... no water marks

Way to go Mag! That's what I'm talkin' About! Bring a date over to the house for dinner, offer a drink from a freshly cleaned glass... pop open the dishwasher (in front of your guest of course) and pull one out among all thoes chainsaw parts! Very impressive indeed! Before the look of shock leaves your friend, just explain it's the best way to get blood and DNA evidence off the parts. This looks like something Tim "the toolman" Taylor would do. Great idea though.

would diesel be better to clean down with instead of petrol as its not as flammable and doesn't evaporate as fast, plus it could be filtered and used again for the next cleaning job,
