I have a homelite super 2 that has run great for quite some time. Now when idling if I tip it forward or bar down the engine slows and dies. It wont do it if I tip it up or hold it horizontal. If I set the idle high it remains running when tipped forward but when horizontal it will speed up enough to get the chain moving. I have adjusted the screws while it's horizontal and it will run fine, it may be a little slow throttling down when the throttle is released though. It come to an idle and stays there. If I tip it down it will quickly slow down and die. It will start right back up again.

Any thoughts?

Often it's just beause your L is a tad too rich... puddling as sugar points out..
Back it off and try it. Look for smooth accel and don't compensate for too rich by increasing the LA.

I got a little of that the other day. I will try the recommended procedures. But I was wondering if the fuel hose inside the tank dosen't hang up when it is really cold? Like as in not sliding down into the gas because it's too stiff. It was happenening to me when I tilted the saw sideways to start a cross cut with the mill.

Probably not... the saw will run for a while on the gas in the carb or hose. The filter picks of the "foaming" gas anyhow.
