Black powder is also fun (drill hole in tree, pack with powder, trigger with shorted out extension cord - just plug it in)
BUT
He lives in PRNJ. Their nanny state doesn't trust them with any of the fun stuff.
I grew up there, left 20yrs ago and never looked back (except to visit family that is still stuck there).
My first saw was / is a Stihl 039 with a 20" bar that I bought used from an OPE dealer that I did welding work for. It was WAY more than I needed but at the time [ early 90s ] I was still vigorous and could handle an 18 lb saw no problem. In the early 2000s I was no longer vigorous and bought a 33cc 14" Homelite for 99% of the cutting on my acre. Fast forward to last May and I bought a Stihl MSA120 cordless and it now does 85% of my felling and trimming. The O39 did get quite a workout cleaning up after Irma as shown in the pic. The little cordless in the pic is 10 lbs lighter than the 039 which is a real boon. I used it all day on Thursday feeding the fires
Yeah. Det cords and black powder.....they'd have a 5 block radius evacuated, 6 fire trucks, about 30 police cruisers and an armored swat vehicle.
My buddy a few properties down was burning some old wood he cut in his fire pit. Like 10" diameter and 6" long. Neighbor called and I kid you not, there were 2 fire engines and 4 cops in his driveway. Only bad part about living in a nice area. Smh.
