Saw for personal use??

Tell your local chainsaw dealer what you want to do with the saw, and how much you can afford to pay. Be honest about your needs. Most of us don't drop redwoods.

Get the dealer to put together a package of safety gear + saw + files + etc that hits your price point.

I learnt my lesson buying a dud saw from a non specialist. I've since bought a saw from a specialist dealer, and it's like chalk and cheese. I couldn't be happier with the saw or the dealer.
 
Go with the 361 and never look back. Once you run this saw, you'll understand all of our ranting and raving. Even if you only run it 10-20 hours a year, you'll be happy you paid the extra money.
