A guy stopped by with a saw today that he said ran real good... He said he set it down to clear brush and it wouldn't restart...Felt real rough cranking it and had very little compression....

.

SO..........................................

Whats the problem? If it was a Stihl it would've lite right off and ran fine:hmm3grin2orange:

Detonation deluxe.....stale fuel most likely heat up the piston so bad the oil cooked into solid carbon on the underside of the piston and starved the small end bearing till the cage came apart

how is the big end bearing...it looks OK

Big end bearing Free and smooth.....The guy that own's it run's 93 with 40/1 Stihl orange ..Always fresh gas saw has a lot of time on it.. 3 years old....

ultra's right that damage is from bad/stale gas,low octane gas.
that saw rattled itself apart from pre-ignition.
i gas stations pull the old switch a roo with their octane ratings, you pay for 93 octane and get 87,switch gas stations.

Is that a 200?

I had an 020 that did the same thing and it had sucked in some chain oil from a bad gasket and it coked the bottom of the piston like that but I got it before the bearing came apart The piston had the crowned marks of detonation but not as bad and a stuck ring
