Guy says its 52" , 10'. If that's true, log chart says 7000+ pounds.

+1 on all the no bark splits, primo firewood in 2-3 years.

I love how easy red oak splits!!! Now if my Fiskars maul wasn't back ordered till February I could get on it.

Noodles will fill 55 gallon bags, save and use for fire starting.

Should be a solid cord and a half??

Dude has been pecking away at it with a 20" saw, going to back up to it with my 16x6 trailer with a winch, stick an eyebolt on far back side of 4-5 ' piece, and hook winch cable up and roll it up the ramp into back of trailer. That's the plan anyway, see what fails???

I've winched a lot of big pieces, but this is by far the biggest diameter trunk yet!!

we took one in at bulky waste last week about that size 9000 lbs it was green.

Nice score. I would be pecking away at it for a while but my 20 inch would end up taking care of it. A couple of noodling cuts at the 1/3 thickness mark, then cut off what you have noodled and repeat. Once the outer slabs are gone it is easy to take out the middle one.

Found it thru Cincinnati Craig's list free, thought about it, pretty close to us, emailed the guy, was very up front and honest, older gentleman I believe, so I figure I'll give it a go.

Got a buddy with a rollback tow truck, but I think I can get with my trailer and another friend and his trailer. Goal is to load most of it with the switch on the winch.
Taking the 660, a roof torch if it is frozen to the ground, spud bar, and some large eyebolts to screw into it to pull/roll it up on the trailer, looks simple on paper...

Man I hate to hear that I got out scrounged ...

To tell the truth I'm completly out of places to put firewood but a chunk of Oak like that is hard to pass up . It sounds like you've got a plan and with rounds that weigh 600-700 lbs you better be carful and protect your back.

It looks like it's already cut into rounds?? I would noodle it into quarters and use a good dolly to put on a trailer. Pound wedges into the top when your cutting it into rounds. A skid loader or tractor would really help you. I would still try to cut it up some before attempting to move it.
