It looks like it's already cut into rounds?? I would noodle it into quarters and use a good dolly to put on a trailer. Pound wedges into the top when your cutting it into rounds. A skid loader or tractor would really help you. I would still try to cut it up some before attempting to move it.
Not slower than ash because it will split so easy, start at the outside and work your way in. Have 30-32" rounds, end up getting 40-50 smaller sized splits each round. I do them smaller so they dry quicker, oak takes forever to burn without a sizzle.Have fun. I prefer to stay away from big stuff like that as it's slower to process.
Does your vagina slow you down? Or your poor New York/New Jersey work ethic? ? ? LoL just kidding brother! Ain't nobody harder workin or tuffer that people from the east coast. . .Have fun. I prefer to stay away from big stuff like that as it's slower to process.
It is a little slower to process but if you ever run across oak logs like that and don't want them, I will trade you even up for some easy processing boxelderHave fun. I prefer to stay away from big stuff like that as it's slower to process.
I am late to the party and I can't believe nobody beat me to it..........so allow me to be the first, YOU SUCK!!!! If I found a log like that, I would be stiff for a week, and I ain't talking about my back!
Hahaha, I will be giving a full report, and when I get the 8# Fiskars see how much better it is than the x25/x27 models.I am late to the party and I can't believe nobody beat me to it..........so allow me to be the first, YOU SUCK!!!! Yup prolly seen a clothes line, a hammock or two, a tree fort and god only knows what else in it's life time! If only that tree could talk, the stories it could tell.Hahaha, I will be giving a full report, and when I get the 8# Fiskars see how much better it is than the x25/x27 models.
Hopefully no metal, as that is prolly a 150-200 year old yard tree. Going to do the first 6 feet last, as that is most likely where metal will be. I have ruined a few 36" chains on these yard monsters, I will be surprised if I DON'T hit something. That's a long time for someone to pound something into it.
Hopefully no "t" posts, fence, or concrete!!!Yup prolly seen a clothes line, a hammock or two, a tree fort and god only knows what else in it's life time! If only that tree could talk, the stories it could tell.
Good Luck, I hit a broken off tree stand step this fall with a brand new chain. I am glad it was only an 18" that my uncle made up for me. It didn't hurt as badHopefully no "t" posts, fence, or concrete!!!
The adventure starts Thursday morning!! Supposed to snow
Until you come across one of those monster knots. Not slower than ash because it will split so easy, start at the outside and work your way in. Have 30-32" rounds, end up getting 40-50 smaller sized splits each round. I do them smaller so they dry quicker, oak takes forever to burn without a sizzle.
