I think the much shorter length of the stick saw versus the long pole saw makes a big difference. I don't feel it pulling on my back. The hoses might help with that too. If I need to get higher up I'll put my forks on the tractor with an IBC tote as a bucket and have my daughter drive me around and lift me up. I installed front remotes on my tractor. I have two hoses running to one of my rear remotes. It was around 1/4 the cost to do it this way versus putting in a joystick control.Yeah, I've seen some good deals on them, but I didn't realize that I may have been able to use them on my tractor as you did. The question is will you be selling them lol.
Surprised it's lighter, do you think it just feels lighter because of the weight of the hoses balancing it out.
I had to unload it into the back of my little Honda odyssey at the yard, good thing my truck has a lift gate on it . I barely got the hatch to close, the boy helped me get it out at the house. I fixed it as soon as it hit the ground in the barn, couldn't believe that's all it was.
Should make nice coals for bbq.Yes, but what about dead standing? It's not punky yet, but it doesn't have any of the 'oils' left in it.
For smoking, yea, but what about bbq? I've never used anything but bone dry wood for bbq.I wouldn’t use it . I don’t season my smoking wood near as long as firewood .
Weather guesser mentioned yesterday that it would be hazy here from more Canadian smoke.View attachment 1091102View attachment 1091103
Used charcoal and wood to cook 350lbs off beef today. Community BBQ that's been going on for 55 years. I've been on the pit crew for about 10 years. I have apple wood in buckets in my garage that's 4 years old and I still use it to smoke. We also use maple and black cherry. Fed over 500 today.
Back at you! Same to all the other Dad's here.Happy Father’s Day, to all the great dads out there , may the ported saw gods be with you always, Lol
We have the same splitter. Added a little log shelf on the side of mine and love it.Managed to get three loads in the woodshed, the girls helped me today.

Then I got another one by myself, couldn't find my phone, then after looking around a bit I found it where my hand is . Crisis averted .

Even got a few loads of brush cleared and another small tree plucked up, then I dug up a nice rock that will be used for a retaining wall or it will make a nice seat somewhere(no pics of the rock, but it did happen ). There's still 3 more buckets of brush and debris to pick up, a few branches to cut off trees(firewood sized), and one tree that was broke off and one close to it that's dead standing that I'll be taking down too.
Sure wish it wasn't so dry, would be nice to have a big fire today, the brush and root balls are piling up.

I guess any wood other than pine and softwoods would be good for BBQ . Smoking is best with slightly green wood in my experience. To build the bed of coal I use dry oak and ash then the apple ,cherry or hickoryFor smoking, yea, but what about bbq? I've never used anything but bone dry wood for bbq.
Thats one of the last iterations they produced. We have the same splitter. Added a little log shelf on the side of mine and love it.View attachment 1091147
