So this is how my weekend has been going.

Now I got another bent over hunk in the wedge. Glad I missed it with the saw, although I threw a chain earlier. Which took out a few of the drivers. That went on the "needs fixed" pile. After yesterday's date with the toilet, I'm starting to think I should stop before I break anything else today.
 
Looks like it’s going to be a disappointing maple syrup season. Buckets are bone dry I’m usually on the second boil by now with a few gallons canned . If it warms up to fast the buds will pop on the trees and the season will be over
Had that a couple years ago here. I thought we weren't going to get any sap. Turns out the frost was so deep that the sap didn't start running until the ground thawed a bit. We got 3 days of good sap then it got too warm.

Do you have any box elder or silver maple trees? Could tap them a see if they run. They always run a little before the sugar maple.
 
It's up in the 40s today after a couple weeks of frigid below zero temps. It feels good to be back out cleaning up this property!
