Have you considered CCI St. Velocity .22lr? It's actually quieter than air rifles, sub sonic velocity.
Don’t want anything to do with powder as I said can’t have it shipped and every purchase requires a background check in NY . I don’t worry about noise here I shoot the 30-06 and the .40 in my backyard the sound of gunshots are very common here. My brother in law was very nervous when he came up and heard gunshots most likely a neighbor sighting in his rifle for deer season

What's so special about an EMD in front of 2 GE units?
As mentioned in the description it is one of the various "specialty" paint scheme locomotives that CSX currently has, this one was repainted for Operation Lifesaver. CSX alone has numerous heritage units, military/first responder tribute units, "emblem" units (has the logo on the side of the cab of various predecessor roads to CSX, basically a cheaper heritage unit) and the "Spirit of..." locomotives that have the name of a state or city on them. As it turned out I just happened to be able to get that one as even in this day and age with livestream cameras and websites/forums tracking these units how many still slip by unnoticed. And on a side note every so often a CSX SD40-2 will lead a road train out here.

Just got 5 lbs of powder from Midway USA the other day, no problem at all.

I should have said ammunition .
Powder looks to be ok but I don’t reload .

“Ammunition cannot be shipped directly to individuals in New York State; it must be sent to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) or a registered seller of ammunition, who will then conduct a background check before transferring it to the purchaser. This is in accordance with New York's SAFE Act regulations“

With the recent discussions about air guns I figured I’d mention that Airgun Depot often has sales. They have one now with 12% off on a bunch of stuff…. Ends today. Code GRNSALE

I got a Beeman P1 from them. It’s more accurate than my Colt Gold Cup and Kimber Gold Match .45s and a LOT cheaper to shoot. The downside of it’s inherent accuracy is I cannot blame the gun if the 10 meter groups aren’t tight. 😉
GAMO has some great deals. I bought my .22 cal pellet rifle at 50% off. It was brand new but supposidely reconditioned. The only thing that I noticed was that the front sight looked like it had been fixed. It is deadly.

I'd have a tough time living in either state. I can't imagine having to get a background check just to buy ammo. I can walk into the local sporting goods store buy a handgun and walk out with it the same day. No waiting period here.

I truly feel for you guys.

Reminds me of a visit to a gunstore in Illinois many years ago. I'm from PA, was there working. Found some ammo and took it to the counter. Asked for my FOID. Had no clue what he was talking about. Needless to say the ammo stayed there. This was probably 30 years ago.

Still need a FOID card in IL.

Didn't seem to deter the richkid nutjob who just executed a guy in NYC. <sarc> I am sure he bought it from a registered ffl in NY! </sarc>

Backfilled the house section today after I used the water -stop cement . I drilled the holes yesterday had to buy a 1 1/2 inch bit . $125 bucks but it cut through the foundation like butter

The Hercules SDS Max hammer drill has been a great tool I use a lot

Going to hook up the pipe tomorrow I’m waiting for the water-stop cement to cure where the pipe comes out of the cistern. Had a pretty good leak

A little side-step from the varmint & excavation talk:
I have a pretty old offset-head hatchet that's been my go-to for debarking my firewood. It probably had a crack in the head when I bought it but I've just noticed it more recently. I feel like this is so old that trying to weld it back together will be a fool's errand.
I'd appreciate your thoughts

I'm no expert but I think it could be done. Best way to fix cracks is to drill the end of the crack to stop it and then grind the crack out and fill the ground out area with weld. All the crack has to be removed or it will crack again. I'd probably remove the handle and preheat the head to a couple hundred degrees and then weld. Up to you if it's worth the effort.
