The problem with NY is the big cities ... NYC, Rochester, Buffalo. Unfortunately, the cities have more voters than the rest of the State, and then places like Westchester County go liberal, and it is all over! The engine of the Empire State used to be NYC. Now it is the land of welfare and unsafe subways, and instead of making them clean and safe, they come up with "congestion pricing" to economically force you to use the. It is like a dog chasing its tail, it does not stop, and it accomplishes nothing!
Whenever Peter can rob Paul to pay for expenses, Peter will never live within his means. NYC bridges are 8X as expensive as the other river crossings, it all goes into the subway system, and it is still a pathetic mess! Major reform is needed ... but not likely.
One of my first audits with NYS was the NYC Police Department. They used to have separate Housing and Subway police forces, and NONE of them could communicate with each other! Luckily, that got fixed, but there is so much more that need to be done.
They closed almost all of the Mental Institutions, and now everyone wonders why there are so many crazies in NYC and on the subway. It is not difficult to figure it out, you just need to open your eyes!
It is as stupid as pushing to make cigarettes illegal while simultaneously pushing to legalize weed ... because they can make money from it!
