I was poking around Bailey's website and I found the Husqvarna Square chisel chain is on sale.
This is an example for an 84 drive link chain...View attachment 1246444I might pick up a couple loops.
They had a 100’ foot reel of C83 for 299.00, not sure if it’s still on sale ,

I wouldn't go through that much chain in a lifetime. I also don't have a chain breaker/spinner.

Edit...I probably would but I don’t want to get married to one type of chain. I like trying different kinds, it's fun to experiment.

Yea , good deal for a high volume chain user,

I have wanted a 572XP for some time now. I missed out on one last weekend. Last night I found another one for a reasonable price. I picked it up this morning for $550. It has a 28" bar on it. It runs great. I will be putting my 24" TsuMura light bar on it after I clean it up later today. Pictures to follow shortly.

Yessir. We'll see how long it stays sharp in the Ash I cut. Once it loses it's edge I will probably round grind it.:surprised3:

If it works well I will get a file and try to file it.
Square filing can be rewarding, just some patience and understanding blunt and sharp angles for ur conditions , If ur interested in filing send me a pm with ur address, I’ll send one ,

What do you do when there isn’t enough sap to boil?

You smoke :)View attachment 1246561View attachment 1246562
Yesterday a group of us met at a friend's and installed handles on bags, had to be a couple hundred, but I didn't ask how many. I think they will be tapping this week. Calling for teens tomorrow, then a good number of 40 degree days next week.
We all had pizza afterwards, that grub you're making sure looks much better :sweet:.

Punch a hole in the cans and put it in a small oiler can like this when it's out of propellant. It helps save a lot of penetrant as well since this doesn't coat the shop walls when you are trying to just hit a small point with it.

I've bought the wd-40 in the old metal gallon containers before, not sure if they still sell it that way or not. If they do, I'll probably get one once the barn is done.
Can't be tight if it's liquid!
Sure stinks if the liquid flows the wrong direction though 😆. I got pretty good torching out manifold bolts, it's even easier if they aren't a blind hole.
