Hi AS,

So I'm trying to change seals but the crankshaft on the clutch sides has a threaded bushing or sleeve on it that's blocking the removal of the bad seal. Will that slide off with some heat or what? I can't get my gear puller on it....

Thx in advance

I am not real familiar with the husky 40. But other husky saws in similar size, have a drive gear for the oil pump similar to what you are describing. Husky and Poulan make a puller that's not too much. You can make something out of pipe fittings that does a nice job from the hardware store for a few bucks. I tried to pull one with heat and just prying it. It did not go well ended up cutting it off with a Dremel. If you search on here there are posts that describe what fittings you need. I think there are youtube videos also on a husky 55. Pretty simple if you use the puller. Make note of the position so it does not chew the oil pump.
