Thats what i was thinking. 6-8 cords. Hard to say with no reference.Hard to tell the size from the pics but I'd guess 6-7 cords. The logs are ~8 feet long? Did they dump it or what the loader operator really that bad?
Is that a full semi load? Looks small to me. A normal tri-axle log truck holds 6 cord, I'd expect more than 6 cord on a semi trailer... never bought one but guessing upward of 10-12 cord on a full semi... am I off base?
What did that semi load cost ya?
I just got quoted $1K for a tri-axle truck + pup trailer.
8' lengths aren't too bad, especially if they are all fairly close to that. I buck five rounds from each length and then split them down from there. Knock one round off of each end and then three in the center. If it's actually a bit longer than 8', go to six rounds. I usually mark it first with shallow nip cuts.Seems like alot more work to make and handle 8ft lengths vs tree length?
OK, but around here the loggers generally cut to 8' lengths. The bunk posts on the flat bed are set about 6' apart. Most of the logs go into pallet making and the sawmill likes the 8' to 9' lengths. Firewood logs are made from tops that the sawmill rejects.I was talking about in the woods and on the truck. Have to handle 5 or 6 8fters to equal on tree length.
