What a mess this one was. It was fairly rotten on the face cut side and went over a little sooner than expected but it fell exactly where I wanted it to go and ended well.

2nd tree of the day was also a bit of a mess. I apparently can’t keep my saw level and ended up with the back cut lower than the face cut. This one took a fair bit of wedging to go the way I wanted but in the end I won !!

These three were uneventful. I got a little trigger happy with the big one in the background when it was already well on its way over. I strapped the small one in the foreground as it appeared to have a few cracks running up the trunk.

From what I see there's a good reason your saws getting pinched.
Probably be a good idea to seek a bit of guidance regarding your felling cuts before you decide to drop anything significantly bigger too ;)

Another English Elm. succumbed to Dutch Elm disease, too big for me to deal with so I hired some professionals

Sorry no stump photo, but sad to see such a mighty parkland tree go. We had dozens on the farm in the 1970s but only one left now. There are many saplings in the hedges but they only live for about fifteen years then the bark cracks and the beetles go in taking the fungus with them
