I picked this thing up 2 weeks ago. Wondering if anyone has experienced such a machine. It's my understanding that these are very unique and the company that made them is no longer in business

2001 Shred-Vac Chip Shredder. 100 Hp Cummins, 225 Original Hours, 8' Hopper w/ 36" Conveyor, 10' Transfer Tube, Dust Suppression System, 12,000 GVW Trailer, Hydraulic Controls, Pintle Hitch, Surge Brakes, Ex-Caltrans Unit.
This machine can vacuum, shred and blow chips or light organic waste. With an 8' hopper and conveyor one can dump chips from the truck right into it, to be shredded in the hammer mill and then blown out for dispersion into the landscape. Or vacuum up chip or leaves for loading. This is a very unique unit, the only model of its kind. Very low original hours and in near mint condition.
CARB Certified.
Located in Marin CA.
$15,000

equipment nurd??

Really, not one comment. Not one, "that's cool"?? Am I that much of an equipment nurd? Its true that when I drive down the street with my girl I'm turning my head for trucks and equipment, not other girls.
It's like "wow, check out the winch on that one!! Man I'd like to put some wood into that thing!!"

Maybe you all just don't know what this thing does. You back you chip truck to it and dump the chips into the hopper, chip go up a conveyor belt and into the hammer miller were they get pulverized. Then they are sucked through the blower and shoot out the end into a pile or truck or hillside, whatever. Takes a $50 load of chips and turn it into a $500 ground cover installation. Is that cool or what?

Well I'm an equipment nerd too and i've never seen,or heard of a machine like that.

What, it sucks the chips back out of the truck and regrinds them? or you have to shovel them into the hopper? We had some vacs around here similar to that, used by the City to pick up leaves in the fall.

By the way cal tree, always have some good looking equipment in your landscape trader adds. You would have 1 more customer here if not for the 3000 mile drive :dizzy:

Thanks Old_soul. Ya, you can vacuum up chips, fork them or dump them in. It is designed to blow chips up onto embankments I think. Ran the thing yesterday and it really throws them fair and wide. Looks like a walking floor truck would work best. I'll make a movie as soon as can set it up.

Shipping to midwest isn't too much so don't let that deter you.
