I seen this one end last night and was temped to put a bid on it (always liked those 257's) but after seeing the note about putting simple green in the gas tank I said no way...

what is up with that ?? Isn't that simple green water based and essentially soap ?? what would all the residue do to the carb and engine once it sucked it through ??

take a look

simple green

Simple green is the best thing in the world for getting varnish out of old carbs .Just remove the carp and submurse it in the simple green and let it sit for awile blow it out and its good and clean. So why is the gas tank a bad idea sounds logical.

nuts

Thats insane... hey if you have some kids around they will enjoy the bubble machine chainsaw.

Simple Green degreases, but I'm not sure I'd call it a degreaser in the same catagory as things like Gunk. It does have some soap or detergent component. And it's water-based. Totally nuts.

Checked Simple Greens web site. The product is safe for transportation purposes but it is a water based product and they do warn of aluminum corrosion under prolonged exposure.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me to use as a way to make it safe to ship a fuel or oil tank that needs hazzardous shipping considerations.

Thanks

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to take a look at that one... Who is it ?
