I have access to quite a bit of slab wood from a local mill. I would like to use it for several projects. What do all think would be the best way to get the wood to a workable thickness? Some is say an inch thick one end and 3-4" on the other. There is some like that too that doesn't have the bark on it. Would any of the chainsaw mills work?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug , the chainsaw mills that run horizontally will ride on the flat side of a slab and cut at the depth you set . The kicker is that a slab is difficult to hold steady . If there is a pallet mill close they have band resaws that make quick work of sawing . What are you going to make?
