this saw ROCKS!!!!!!
i just picked up the 300mm sliky gomboy
folding saw from sherrill and i love it!!!!
i used it all weekend in a big live oak.
cuts like a dream. makes me wonder
why the hell i've been using a little corona
all this time:D

Yup, it is a heck of a nice handsaw. I have the 210mm Accell and the 300mm Gomboy, might need to get myself the 240mm Gomboy to round out my arsenal. Sometimes the blade wants to bend if I'm not careful, I think the shorter Gomboy would be less likely to act that way.
I used the Corona handsaws for years and they aren't much better than a standard used polesaw blade after the first month. The Silky's seem to hold their razor-sharp edge a lot longer.

Resurrecting this nine (9) year thread if ya'll don't mind.

Here's the Silky Gomboy 240mm I just got this past Friday.

Will have to put it to use and see how it performs. That's all for now.

Take care now, those things have a hunger for fingers that is insatiable, especially when they're new. Pretty soon you'll be wanting one with a scabard. Zubat is pretty nice.

Hell yes! Those things like blood! Had one close on me, I leaked at least a qt!

Why would anyone want that over a scabbard saw like a zubat? It must have its place somewhere but I dont know what it would be. UNLESS it pops open like a switch blade!! Then I would def get one.

I'm glad you posted here I was planning on buying a gomboy because it is on sale at tree stuff right now. I never thought of it closing on my fingers before. I'll be going the way of scabbard saw instead after reading this thread.

I used to use a Zubat but got a Sugoi two years ago. It is my favourite hand saw now. It can be sharpened and is a bit longer than the Zubat.
