I usually spray chain on saw down with a fogger or WD after cutting.

For the chain soaking, not for oiler can simple motor oil used.
If I need very sticky oil for harsh conditions, like sawing and limbing fallen trees under snow, I use mix from bar oil and good gearbox oil. Mixing of different oils should be done not in the saw oil tank and controll done that no any chemical reaction between different oils isnt
