Good evening all,
I'm a novice looking for some advice about my Solo 651.
I had the saw tuned up when I bought it used in the winter of 2004. The shop said it was in fantastic shape. I used it for a season without an issue.
Unfortunately my saw has been sitting unused with fuel in it for the past year or so. I forgot to prep it for storage. I picked it up this morning and it started after a pull or two. I let it run for about 30 seconds, but then I shut it off thinking that I might ruin an otherwise excellent saw.
I'm wondering what I should do to get this saw ready for use after such a long period of storage. Should I empty and refill the fuel/oil mix? Anything else? Did I screw up running it for that half a minute or was it not long enough to do any serious harm? Any special concerns for a saw that has sat unused for a year?
It ran beautifully when I started it. I just don't want to risk ruining it without proper prep first.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Joe Martins
