John, your saw arrived today...and, yep..just abut caught up on everything else...should be workig on it by the weekend...hopefully my camera wont screw up again, and will have some pictures... Not a problem on the shirt...25cdn...whenever you get to sending it...not a worry

Thanks again Dennis. I can't wait to use it! I've been reading the Faller & Bucker's Handbook, and given what I've read, I've been one lucky SO & So, even with the limited saw work I've done. Ignorance is bliss, as they say (or missing some body parts). Well, even that book has me a bit worried about getting carried away too quickly on the saw work. Although my wife's happy to see my new found respect for the chainsaw. (I've always respected her). Anyway, I put another check forin with the first one ($17.07 USD).
Crap, just heard another fire broke out near our place. A guy at work here lost his home today (one of 20 gone). Another 200 homes are in danger.

bye,

John

John..I hope all stays well there for you...fire is a nasty thing...I have seen wildfires take 30 foot trees and lift them off them off the ground and spin them 100 feet in the air in a hearteat...not a pretty thing when you are in the helicopter above them...

Ginger...i am glad you had a great time here in clearwater...it was a great pleasure to have another "arborist-person" (politically correct?) here...I am hoping you will make it next year, cause I think you will be much more in practice for the cross cut...I heard rumor Sat night you are wanting your own saw now??

anyway..I am outta here...gone to eat dinner..then back to saws...just about caught up:blob2: :blob2:

RBTree

Here are some more pictures. I haven't had time to go through all of them, so it's a dribs and drabs kinda thing. Some may be posted elsewhere, but I can't remember where, so bear with me.

Roger, RBTree, is a great guy. When you meet him, you'll understand why he's so good at climbing. Not an ounce of fat and all lean muscle. Here's Roger getting ready to race one of his saws.

Pink's mom the Lumberjill

If I remember correctly, Pink's mom's name is Lisa. She's a real logger and she's just as rugged as any guy would be. Here she is sharpening her chain.

Sawracr and his 2100

Hewre's one of Jon Rupley making a cut with his 2100. Jon switched to a somewhat shorter bar than normal because he was concerned that the modded 2100 might bog in the 18" cottonwood log because of too much bar drag....sure.

Robert and Dennis

This is one of my favorites. He and Dennis had just gone for swim together in Dennis' hot tub here. Check out the look on Robert's face. I figure this look could mean several things; some of which I probably shouldn't get into on this forum. Summation: I'm glad I wasn't in Dennis' shoes.

Lou Greffard at the log

Lou and Ella Greffard are Dennis' parents. They don't come any better than this, folks. I sat down with Lou several times for a few hours and he told me many stories of when he used to do logging all across Canada. This is Lou in competition with a Greffardized Jonsey.

All together

Here's one of a few saws just laying around. Here we see a cross section of AS talent from the Rupleys, Ken and Dennis.

I gotta go to dinner, but I'll get some more together later.

Dennis,
I haven't had much time for the picture CD yet, but I'll get to it one of these days. Video, too!

Thanks Doug, I would have loved to have gone but couldn't, it's real nice of you to post the pics for the rest of us.

Bill

I`ll second what wak110 said. Nice job Doug! Thanks for the effort of putting the pics up for everyone to enjoy. Russ

Dennis' Saw Collection

The saw shop is so full of customers saws and merchandise that Dennis has to store his collection outside hanging from the rafters. According to him, these all run.
