We had a big double oak blow over last fall, each was approx 40 " DBH. I didn't have a big say then (stihl don't, but working on it), a friend bucked it for us. Anyways, the blocks were still to heavy and wet to move to the splitter so I spent today quartering. Three gallons of gas thru the 361 (25" bar with RS skip), I guess she's close to broken in now. It cut fine as long as I didn't dog it hard and just let it eat. Actually, I had more problems keeping up with the noodle pile than cutting.
Thanks to all, and please keep sharing your advise and warped sense of humor. The scary part is I'm starting to understand.
I did all of the limbing last year with my 290 and thought that was great-I still respect that saw, its got three+ years of hard cutting and its never let me down. BUT A 361 IT AIN'T!!! With the 18" bar and RSC, the 361 is an amazing saw.
